Hiking Mt. Elgon
For those of you that don’t know, Kitale is located at about 6200 ft elevation, near the base of Mt. Elgon. We’ve been here in Kitale over 3 months now, with the peak of Elgon beckoning us on a daily basis. So on our day off yesterday, Kelly & I decided it was finally the day to conquer.
It took us about 2 hours on extremely bumpy dirt roads to make it to the end of the road near the top, then we spent about 3 hours hiking around the top and exploring the amazing rock formations we found up there.
There are several high points to Mt. Elgon, and we realized once up there, that we were not on the actual peak, but that just leaves us something to do next time☺ (nooooo, we did not get lost!).

Hey Carrie,
I'm so glad you and Kelly have been getting out and hiking together. You stole my favorite hiking buddy!! Looks like a great place for exploring.
